When lockdown started many were forced to work from home. To some this was a dream come true. To others a complete nightmare. Regardless of your preference if you are working from home, you are picking up extra costs that your employer used to pay. Electric, heating, water. Boiling a kettle uses vast amounts of electric, and flushing toilets raises your water bill. If you are self employed you can claim up to a third of these bills, but if you are an employee there is little or nothing you can claim.
Against popular opinion, there is a real likelihood businesses will not continue with working from home policies once lockdown is fully lifted, except those businesses who operate in a decentralised manor prior to covid19. The last quarter of 2021 will be the indicator for prospective opportunities in 2022 but be prepared to go back to the office in H2 of 2021.
